Why it suits a group occasion
An hour inside the stone circle, away from the daytime crowds, has a natural weight to it that makes a good setting for a birthday, an anniversary or simply a group of friends who want to do something they can't easily arrange themselves.
Book together, early
Inner-circle places are capped for every departure, so book your whole party together as soon as your dates are fixed rather than adding people later.
It's a full day, not an evening out
At around 11 hours door to door, this isn't a quick evening activity — plan the rest of your day around it rather than trying to fit it in alongside other London plans.
What the group gets together
Everyone in your party shares the same guided stops at Avebury, Silbury Hill and West Kennet Long Barrow before the inner circle access, so the day builds toward the same moment for the whole group.
Weather doesn't stop the plan
Stonehenge's evening access runs outdoors on open downland regardless of the forecast, so dress the group for the conditions rather than hoping for a particular kind of evening.
If someone can't make it
Free cancellation up to 14 days before departure gives some flexibility if a group member's plans change early, though changes inside that window are no longer refundable.
